New patients

Registering with Normanby Dental.

NHS patient books depend on our current contract allocation — some months we have spare capacity, others we run a short waiting list. Private registration is always open. Either way, the first visit works the same: a proper exam, a plain plan, no pressure.

Your first visit

What to expect.

  1. Step 1

    A 30-minute unhurried exam

Full soft-tissue and bite check, focused x-rays where clinically needed, and time to actually talk. We don't rush new patients through in fifteen.

  2. Step 2

A plain plan, not a hard sell

You leave with a written plan and a clear idea of what's needed, what can wait, and what it will cost. If nothing's needed, we'll tell you that too.

  3. Step 3

NHS or private, decided with you

The clinical care is identical. We'll flag what the NHS covers for your circumstances (including exemptions) and what only sits on the private schedule.

NHS exemptions

You might not pay NHS charges.

NHS dental charges are waived for several groups. If any of these apply, please bring proof (MatB1, benefit letter, HC2 etc.) to your first visit.

  • Under 18 (or under 19 in full-time education)
  • Pregnant or given birth in the last 12 months
  • Receiving qualifying benefits (Universal Credit, Income Support, Pension Credit Guarantee, etc.)
  • Holder of a valid HC2 certificate

Not sure if you're exempt? Mention it in the enquiry form — we'll check when you call to confirm.
